COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A memorial was unveiled this week in honor of Coeur d'Alene Police Sgt. Greg Moore, who died in the line of duty in 2015.
The memorial was revealed to a crowd of hundreds gathered at McEuen Park on Tuesday afternoon.
KREM-TV says the memorial features three waterfalls, which are illuminated at night.
Moore's photo is featured on the center rock.
Moore, who was a 16-year veteran of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, was shot and killed in an altercation with Johnathan Daniel Renfro in the early hours of May 5, 2015.
Renfro was later convicted of first-degree murder and was given a death sentence.
