ZION NATIONAL PARK — The Narrows is closed in Zion National Park after a hazardous weather warning was issued across southern Utah Wednesday.

A slow-moving storm is bringing widespread, low-elevation rain to southern Utah from Wednesday afternoon through Friday morning, [according to the National Weather Service](<https://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=UTZ019&warncounty=UTC053&firewxzone=UTZ497&local_place1=Zion%20NP%20&%20Zion%20Canyon%20UT&product1=Hazardous+Weather+Outlook&lat=37.21&lon=-112.98#.XJOl9BNKjAJ' target=>).

Southwest Utah will receive a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain, and southeast, southern and central Utah will receive a half-inch to an inch of rain as the storm passes through. The southern half of Utah will also receive 7 to 17 inches of snow, mainly in areas above 6,500 to 7,000 feet. East-facing slopes will receive the most precipitation.

The Narrows and all routes that exit through The Narrows in Zion National Park are closed because the flow of the North Fork of the Virgin River exceeded 150 cubic feet per second. The "bottom-up" Narrows will reopen after the flow of the river drops below 150 cubic feet per second," the park tweeted.

Kolob Canyons Road was closed early Thursday because of snow, according to another tweet from the park. As of 11:30 a.m., the road had been reopened to passenger vehicles, but was still closed to RVs and buses due to road damage, according to park officials.

Crews are working to clear the road, but the weather service has predicted it will continue to snow throughout the next few days.
