ST. GEORGE — A woman charged with participating in the attempted murder of a man who was severely beaten with a mini-sledge hammer reached a plea deal with prosecutors and will testify against her co-defendant.
Sasha Davis, 21, is scheduled for a sentencing hearing Jan. 22.
As part of her deal, prosecutors will drop the first-degree felony count of attempted murder and a class A misdemeanor for drug possession, Deputy Washington County Attorney Jerry Jaeger told St. George News Thursday.
Felony charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and a misdemeanor for tampering with evidence remain.
Prosecutors are recommending an extended jail sentence of three years instead of prison time, with a review after two years with the possibility of early release for good behavior and enrollment into a drug treatment program, Jaeger said.
