TORONTO (AP) — Raptors forward Jared Sullinger will have surgery Monday to insert a screw into the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
The Raptors say Sunday the procedure is a preventative measure to alleviate symptomatic stress reactions and will be performed Monday by Dr. Martin O'Malley in New York City.
Sullinger signed with Toronto as a free agent July 14. The four-year veteran has averaged 11.1 points and 7.7 rebounds in 258 regular-season games.
The Raptors also extended their options on Bruno Caboclo, Lucas Nogueira and Delon Wright through the 2017-18 season.
Toronto opens the season Wednesday at home against Detroit.
