How "Sedation Air" might actually happen

Originally aired: Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Do you have trouble sleeping on airplanes? Are your legs too long to comfortably sit on the plane? European airplane manufacturer Airbus wants to fix those problems. In a partnership with France's Zodiac Aerospace, Airbus is creating "cargo sleeper berths" for their A330 models. Mock-ups from the companies show rows of bunk beds on either side of a hall in the cargo-hold. Passengers would purchase a regular seat on the aircraft, and pay extra for a bed. The cabins, however, won't have windows. The sleeper berths are planned to be available in 2020.
