WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A federal judge in the nation's capital has ruled the man who tried to kill President Ronald Reagan is no longer a danger to society, and can be released from the hospital where he's been treated for more than 30 years.

John Hinckley, Jr., fired the shots that wounded Mr. Reagan and his press secretary, James Brady, whose death many years later was ruled a homicide. He said he did it to impress the actress Jodie Foster.

ABC's Stephanie Ramos joined Utah's Morning News with details of the court ruling and what happens next.
