LEHI — It was shear insanity when a man's sheep went loose on I-15.
Yes, four sheep were involved in a trailer breakout on Saturday around 1 p.m., according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Tara Wahlberg.
Wahlberg said the owner of the sheep immediately pulled over when he saw the sheep frolicking on the freeway and not in the trailer.
"It was the weirdest thing," said Brynn Palmer, who saw the incident. “The back of the trailer must have come off and the sheep were flying out."
Officials believe the latch on the trailer malfunctioned.
I-15 was temporarily closed, and it only took about three minutes to corral the not-so sheepish sheep.
Jennifer Lambert (no joke) recorded the sheep casually trotting along the side of the road.

Wahlberg said one sheep was hit by a vehicle, but is alive and well (or should we say "wool").
