NEW YORK (AP) — Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who may or not be running for president, says he has a publication coming in October but it's definitely not a campaign book.

"I think those books are actually quite boring," Jindal said Tuesday during a telephone interview.

Publisher Threshold Editions announced Tuesday that Jindal has a deal with it for "American Will: The Forgotten Choices That Changed Our Republic." In the book, Jindal reviews events ranging from the Louisiana Purchase to the Cold War and offers lessons for the present, which he considers "a critical moment" for the country.

In a reference to the next presidential election, Threshold's announcement notes that the book offers "dramatic tales that demonstrate the courage, faith, and vision that we need in 2016."

Jindal said that he will decide whether to run after the state legislative session ends in June.

"I hope to get people to read it ('American Will') regardless if I run," Jindal said.

Those people, he added, include the candidates already in the race.

A previous Jindal book, "Leadership and Crisis," came out in 2010.
