NEW YORK (AP) — Celine Dion is postponing her music career to focus on her health, husband and three children.

Dion's representative says in a statement Wednesday that the singer is dealing with an illness that caused inflammation in her throat muscles. Her last performance was July 29 in Las Vegas.

The 46-year-old is canceling shows at Caesars Palace Coliseum until further notice. She will also scrap a fall tour of Asia.

Dion says she also wants to focus on her husband, Rene, who had surgery last year to remove a cancerous tumor. She says she wants to "devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing."

She also apologized to her fans "for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."
