NEW YORK (AP) - A British tourist who lost a leg when a taxi jumped a curb and hit her in New York's Rockefeller Center has started the process of suing the city.

Sian (shawn) Green filed what's called a notice of claim against the city in November. Lawyer Daniel Marchese (mahr-KAY'-zee) said Tuesday other parties also might face lawsuits.

Green's $27.5 million city claim says the cabbie's hack license should have been suspended before the Aug. 20 accident because he had prior driving violations. The city Taxi and Limousine Commission has cited a now-fixed computer problem.

The city Law Department says it will review the claim, first reported Tuesday by news website DNAinfo.

Cabbie Mohammed Fasyal Himon has said the accident wasn't his fault.

Green was helped by bystanders, including TV's Dr. Oz.
