No doubt being single can be a challenge.

And, when you're turning 31, about to "graduate" from the singles ward, things can be especially tough.

For Tamara Duricka, a network television producer in New York City, her 31st year proved to be the perfect time to learn how to date.

She decided for her 31st birthday, she would go on 31 dates for 31 days. Each night was a different date. And, among other rules, all of the dates were under 31 dollars.

Over the course of the experiment, Duricka learned how to love people better.

"I needed to open my eyes and realize that every person has value. That every person has come to this earth with a different purpose and I didn't need to look at them and think, 'what is your purpose for me and are you the one?'," Duricka said.

Duricka blogged about her dates and eventually turned it into the award-winning book, "31 dates in 31 days".

While the experiment taught her to ultimately respect and love people for who they are, she also found her husband in the process.

"God had this way more cool plan than I could have ever come up with," she said. "It is way more than a dream come true than I could have even imagined."
