THE HOME — In circumstances that still encourage (if not demand) isolation, social distancing, and masks, we’re all having moments of the coronavirus crazies.
But in a weird way, this gives a certain sect of dads a spotlight that they’re always craving.
This prevalent sect of dads may be described as goofballs, silly billies, or pun masters. As you read those descriptors, it would be incredibly surprising if one or more dads didn’t come to mind. And if one didn’t come to mind, don’t worry, you’re about to meet one.
In this video, once such goofball dad smashes a dance-off against his teen daughter.
Does he win with skill? Probably not. It’s his enthusiasm, competitive spirit, and trash talking that give him an almost winning edge. Yes, almost.
The thing that puts him over the top is his unintentional tongue choreography that flips and flops at several points during his routine.
A protruding tongue is often related to high concentration. It’s like your brain is working so hard that it doesn’t have enough synapses to keep your tongue behind your teeth. So, obviously, a protruding, choreographed tongue is what’s needed to concentrate enough to win dancing competitions. Yes, that’s how logic works.
Some people may find a dad like this obnoxious and overbearing. But if you really think about it, a dad working hard to enthusiastically bond with his teen daughter is certainly in the top 10 endearing things of all time.
