THE PUBLIC — We’ve all worn face masks in our current situation so we can keep our personal liquid droplets out of our shared public spaces.
Some are choosing the classic utilitarian look of disposable medical masks, some are bargain hunting for the cheapest reusable masks they can find, and some are using this opportunity to show off their style and fandoms.
Marvel, Disney, Friends, The Office, Minions, and The Spice Girls are just a few themes, according to this Buzzfeed article, that you can snap up when you’re turning your mask into a fashion statement. And that’s just a drop(let) in the bucket. (Get it?)
Still, some simply aren’t satisfied with a diversity of fabric masks for their fashion statements.
In this featured video, YouTube user Andy Clockwise shows how true doughnut lovers can make a unique face shield. All you need is the lid from a box of a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, a pair of scissors, and just a few minutes of your time.
While Andy does a very simple look for his tutorial, this face shield is ripe for personalization with an artistic flare. Think glitter, stickers, markers, and more.
You can just feel that a new fashion craze coming on, even if the result only makes you hot and sweaty in Utah’s 90-plus degree weather in the summer. But at least you can enjoy the lingering scent of sweet, sweet doughnuts while you wear* it.
*This video is for the funny factor and the face shield is not approved by the CDC or intended for actual use.
