THE GYM — We’ve heard of Olympians having weird routines.
I remember Michael Phelps’ cupping therapy (which made his torso resemble a demented game of Twister) inciting a health war during the 2016 Rio games, and that says nothing of pre-game funky dances and lucky towelettes. In short, we love televising athletes’ quirky game-day preparations.
However, we rarely talk about how strange the training techniques for these sports can be, which is a shame because freestyle sports can require freestyle training.
Just ask Switzerland’s freestyle skiing Olympian Andri Regettli, who shows us his parkour skills in the coolest workout video ever seen.

It’s official, he’s a gold medalist in “the floor is lava” event. After 232 attempts, he deserves it.
Riding on the handlebars of a bike, juggling, and skateboarding earn perfect marks for creativity and skill, and that’s without mentioning the tire-riding, acrobatics, and tightrope walking.
The video feels like watching a human version of a Rube Goldberg machine.
Unlike Andri, who finishes this routine unscathed and ready for the medal ceremony, I broke three bones from just watching this clip.
I’ve decided to leave workouts to the professionals.
