POOLSIDE — Only second to a dog and his boy, a dog and his toy have a bond that cannot be broken.
Some dogs have a go-to ball, some won’t go to bed without snuggling with their plushie, and some love their squeaky toys so much that they lose their squeakers.
And so it is for one dog on Twitter, who has lost her toy to the unpredictable tides of the sea, erm, the pool.
In the video, it is clear that the black lab named Dido needs — like, NEEDS — her toy as she sidles up to the edge of the pool. She is obviously anxious; however, she’s apparently patient enough to not jump in to snag her toy. Basically, it seems very likely that she does not want to get wet.
Thus the plot thickens.
The tension builds as the toy floats closer, but Dido makes a fatal mistake — she gets way too excited to be reunited with the toy. Between her happy wiggles and her need to get away from the water, she trips and falls all over herself in a not-so-graceful fashion and ends up right where she didn’t want to be.
Patience is a virtue, but only if you can hold onto patience long enough to achieve your objective.
