AREA 51 — We’ve always wondered if the U.S. government was hiding aliens in Area 51. Now, one satirical Facebook event is out to prove it.

The Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us Facebook page was jokingly created by an internet meme group with the motto, “Let’s see them aliens.” The page also tells readers, “If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets,” referencing the distinctive sprinting style featured in the early 2000’s smash hit Japanese comic "Naruto."

Comical insanity followed the post.

While the event is clearly not serious, 1.1 million people have RSVP’d as “going” to the September raid, and over 900,000 are listed as “interested.”

It seems like no one can wait to liberate the allegedly imprisoned aliens and find the truth the government has been hiding. This charge has sparked the imagination and excitement of millions, and we know at least one guy is taking his training seriously.

Many officials, however, are afraid that the joke will fly over some people’s heads like a UFO and lead them to the gates of Area 51, which is — all Roswell conspiracy theories aside — an active training base for the U.S. Air Force.

In fact, things became so serious that a spokeswoman for the Air Force went on record to The Washington Post with the statement, “The U.S. Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.”

As priceless as regular people terrifying our military with meme culture is, please stay safe and be advised that "naruto running" does not actually make you immune to bullets.

But until the raid, feel free to keep training in the most hilarious way possible.
