THE PORCH — Your first time being home alone as a kid can be exciting.
Even if it’s just for a few minutes while mom is at the neighbor’s, the feeling of power and control for some kids is about as great a feeling as they come.
Some kids may take this opportunity to eat all the good snacks, dig the toy out of the cereal box, or watch TV shows they’re not supposed to watch. But at least one precocious yet obedient boy just wants to watch the kid’s channel like he’s supposed to when he is granted permission to be home alone.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t quite know how to get to where he’s going with that pesky remote. And instead of running across the street to ask mom, “Baby Gracie” uses a video doorbell on his front porch to call dad.
That in and of itself shows this boy is using the ol’ noodle, but that’s not what makes this video great. What makes the video great is that this small human is so excited to be alive and he loves his dad so much and he’s not shy about it.
The “call” is filled with exuberant greetings of love, lots of kisses for dad, some goofing off, and ultimate success in learning how to get to channel 25. Dad, and what sounds like his coworkers in the background, can’t get enough of it. And you’ll definitely be grinning and laughing along with them too.
Good work, Baby Gracie. The internet loves you for it.
