CITY BY THE BAY-SPLOSION — Michael Bay has been making action-packed films for longer than some of our readers have been alive.
He's responsible for action classics like "The Rock," "Armageddon" and "Bad Boys." Most recently he's been providing us with explosion-filled blockbusters like all the "Transformers" films. The man loves to blow stuff up and destroy cities.
Bay is currently filming the action thriller "6 Underground," starring the ever sarcastic and witty Ryan Reynolds.
Reynolds posted this video from the set of "6 Underground" where he shares what makes Bay so special. He says it's not the action, but rather the quiet moments, the stillness and the characters that really set Bay apart. I appreciate Reynolds insights into this side of the director that most of us don't get to see considering we're not on set with him and can't watch him work in his element. Granted it would have been nice to really hear all of Reynolds' thoughts if all that noise and ruckus wasn't going on behind him.
Yesterday's Have You Seen This?
Wait, maybe I'm missing something. Is Reynolds making some kind of commentary on the current state of Hollywood and how it's almost impossible to recognize the good that comes from the art of filmmaking thanks to the background noise of scandals and egos that are so prevalent in today's entertainment world?
No, no, that's silly. He's just singing the praises of a true auteur, known as Micheal Bay, but someone's bad driving got in the way.
I'm excited to see this character-driven art house piece "6 Underground" when it finally releases in 2019.
