IRELAND — Sometimes all we need is a little encouragement to overcome our fears.

One dad who took a trip to Ireland with his family and got caught on video facing one of his fears can certainly attest to that statement. The family was visiting Dún Aonghasa, a prehistoric hill fort on the Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland, when they climbed the ancient cliffs to see the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. But unfortunately, dad was less than thrilled about the whole experience.

Turns out, dad has an extreme fear of heights, and sitting at the top of a 285-foot cliff is not his idea of a good time. Thanks to a little encouragement from his family, however, he doesn't let that fear stop him from enjoying the view.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

Sure, he has to crawl very slowly to the edge and can only manage to look over for a few seconds, but I honestly can't say I blame him. After what sounds like a very bumpy ride over to the island (motion sickness and making a trek on a ferry are mentioned briefly by whoever is filming the video), I think I'd want to do the same thing. We've talked about irrational fears on "Have You Seen This?" before, but fear of heights is no joke.

Congratulations to this dad who overcame one of his fears that day, and props to his family who gave him the encouragement he needed. Enjoy the video, and then share a time you were able to overcome a fear of your own in the comments below.
