WASHINGTON (AP) — The honorary chairman of this year's National Day of Prayer says, "Our time is running out in America."
The Rev. Tony Evans spoke Wednesday at a men's gathering in Washington on the eve of the 2016 National Day of Prayer. He said there isn't much time left to transform the nation's culture and protect families with a restored moral code.
Evans warned that if God is offended, America will lose, no matter who is elected president.
Christian broadcaster Dr. James Dobson said at least 47,000 prayer gatherings are planned nationwide on Thursday. At noon, many of them are expected to recite a prayer of repentance that Evans composed for the occasion.
