WASHINGTON (AP) — Abortion opponents who plan to spend hours outdoors at Friday's March for Life in Washington say they're undeterred by forecasts warning of blizzard conditions and more than a foot of snow.

At Thursday's Evangelicals for Life conference, Focus on the Family's Kelly Rosati said, "Despite the blizzard coming to this area, we are here to be a witness to the dignity and sanctity of all human life."

The Reverend Russell Moore, who guides public policy for the Southern Baptist Convention, noted that the Weather Channel has given the winter storm the name "Jonas."

Moore said he hopes that doesn't mean that like the Bible's prophet Jonah, marchers will be stuck "in the belly of the whale" for three days and three nights.

Moore said he hopes instead that, like Jonah, the marchers will preach a message that changes hearts.
