SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Health officials say all but one of the 55 people who fell ill with suspected food poisoning while staying at a Salt Lake City homeless shelter have recovered. A Salt Lake County health department epidemiologist says they are interviewing everyone who became sick to determine what and where they ate. She says it appears to be a food handling error.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A judge has delayed the sentencing of a Utah man convicted of murder after a body was found beneath six feet of snow near a Weber County ski resort. Prosecutors say 43-year-old Viliamu Seumanu was one of four people who kidnapped 34-year-old victim Cleat Knight as payback for the alleged theft of drug money. He could go to prison for life.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah man sentenced to death in a 1985 murder case is asking for a new trial, claiming The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints interfered in his trial. The Standard-Examiner newspaper in Ogden reports that Douglas Lovell says attorneys for the church initially tried to prevent testimony from Mormon officials who counseled him in prison. A church spokesman says the officials were subpoenaed and gave personal opinions.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Roman Catholic Church bishop John C. Wester has bid an emotional farewell to Salt Lake City before for his new appointment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Wester has led Utah's Catholics since March 2007. The Salt Lake City Diocese announced last month that Wester will replace Archbishop Michael Sheehan in the Santa Fe post.
