SALT LAKE CITY — The 3-year-old boy who fell from a second-story window in his Spanish Fork home earlier this month has made a "miraculous recovery," his family said in a statement released Tuesday.

Jacob Stallings was flown via medical helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition after his 13-foot fall on June 11. He's since been released from the hospital and will receive further treatment at home, according to the statement.

Jacob suffered severe head injuries as a result of what police called a tragic accident. Authorities suspected Jacob had somehow pushed the screen out on the window, causing the fall.

On Tuesday, Jacob's family expressed gratitude to Primary Children's Hospital staff as well as the Utah community who uplifted the family with "their prayers and positive thoughts for his recovery."

"We’re especially thankful to our family who’s been taking care of everything outside of the hospital, and for the generous monetary donations we’ve received from friends, family, and even people we’ve not met," the statement says. "We will never be able to write each of you a thank you note, but please know how amazed and grateful we are for your generosity."
