SALT LAKE CITY — Diplo, Snoop Dogg and four other acts will play Salt Lake City this summer as part of the Twilight Concerts Series, organizers announced Thursday.

After uncertainty that the annual concert series would continue, the event will return this year with five concerts at the Gallivan Center in August and September. The concerts are being put on through a partnership between the Salt Lake Arts Council Foundation Board and Broadway Media.

Diplo will play the first concert in the series on Aug. 16, according to an emailed statement from concert organizers. Snoop Dogg will perform on Sept. 6. Other artists include Robert DeLong on Aug. 23 and Moon Taxi on Aug. 30.

King Princess and Flora Cash will bring the series to a close on Sept. 13.

“It was important to both parties to maintain the musical integrity of the series, in which highly curated artists perform to appeal to and attract diverse audiences,” concert organizers said in the statement.

Tickets for the concerts are available now at twilightconcerts.com, 24tix.com and at Graywhale locations. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the show, and a full season pass is available for $50.

Los Angeles-based electronic musician Diplo released his latest EP, “California,” in March. Ultra-famous rapper Snoop Dogg also released his latest project, “Bible of Love,” in March.

Los Angeles musician Robert DeLong describes himself as a dance-pop provocateur and one-man band. He released his album “Favorite Color Is Blue” in February.

Moon Taxi is a Nashville indie-alternative rock band that has been together for nearly a decade, according to the band’s website. The band’s latest album, “Let The Record Play,” was released in January.

Pop/R&B act King Princess, also known as 19-year-old Mikaela Straus, just released her newest project, “Make My Bed,” last week. Husband-and-wife indie folk duo Flora Cash is touring following the release of their new single “18 Dollars” in March.

The return of the Twilight Concert Series was made possible with a one-year agreement between the Salt Lake Arts Council Foundation Board and Broadway Media that was announced in February. Salt Lake Community College also is helping to produce the concerts.

Last October, Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski's office recommended to the City Council that the concert series not be funded for 2018. At the time, city leaders said they wanted to try and rework how the series is planned and funded.
