HERRIMAN — Police are searching for a 20-year-old man with autism who left for college classes on Wednesday and did not come back.

Tanner Oblad, of Herriman, left at about 11 a.m. Wednesday for classes at Salt Lake Community College's Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Unified police officials said on Twitter. He left the house without his wallet or phone.

Oblad is 5 feet 11 inches and about 145 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes and is a high-functioning autistic man, officials said.

Oblad was last seeing a blue parka, blue jeans and black snow boots. He was last seen near 6000 West Intrigue Drive.

He usually takes Utah Transit Authority TRAX and bus lines to get to classes, police said.

Officials were not seeking volunteer help on Thursday night because of the darkness and cold weather, Unified police said on Twitter.

Anyone with information about Oblad is asked to call Unified police at 801-743-7000.
