DIAMOND FORK CANYON, Utah County — A man found dead in a tent was identified by investigators Tuesday.

Police found the body of Lew Kyle Bryant, 63, in a small tent in Diamond Fork Canyon Saturday. The cause of his death is still unknown, investigators said.

“According to family, Bryant suffered from several different medical conditions,” a statement from Utah County Sheriff’s Office reads. “Family also told investigators that Bryant was very transient and has lived in as many as 20 different states. They said he most enjoyed living in the mountains, but that he had not stayed in one area long enough to identify as a resident of any specific state.”

Investigators said they found driver licenses and IDs for Bryant from at least six different states.

Deputies responded to Bryant’s tent after dispatch received a call from a man who was camping near him. The camper said he hadn’t seen Bryant since June 11, and that he thought Bryant might be deceased because there was an “unusual odor” coming from the tent, according to police.
