SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested a man Friday who they believe is connected to multiple bank robberies in the Salt Lake Valley.

Michael Alexander Bacon, 45, had been identified by police as the prime suspect in five bank robberies in the Salt Lake Valley, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.

The series of bank robberies police believe Bacon is connected to includes two that occurred within 45 minutes of each other March 24 at the U.S. Bank at 922 E. 2100 South and the Chase Bank at 1306 E. Woodland Ave.

Police said they believe Bacon is connected to three other bank robberies:

  • Feb. 2 — Zions Bank, 870 N. U.S. 89 North Salt Lake
  • Feb. 19 — Mountain America Credit Union, 735 S. State St.
  • March 21 — Zions Bank, 3712 W. 3500 South Police offered a $500 reward to anyone who provided information that led to his arrest and conviction Thursday.
