This is Heidi Walker of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business Report.

Because of the continued reliance on technology for both personal and business use, it's important for everyone to have a basic knowledge of how to use technology.

The Applied Technology Foundation assists low income families and youth by providing computer equipment, technical support, and training in technology and computer skills. This community service is made possible through the generous donations of corporations and individuals.

Donated computers are wiped clean, refurbished and provided with new operating systems and necessary software. Computer equipment that cannot be given to those in need is recycled lawfully and in a way that preserves the environment.

There are several ways you can help this cause. Donate your old or unused computer equipment. Volunteer your techn ical skills to help refurbish computers for a worthy cause. Help train and mentor those in need with technical skills.

Applied Technology Foundation will pick up your donation for free, or you can take your donation to their office in Bountiful. For more details, visit AppliedTechnologyFoundation.org.
