OGDEN — Some of the world's best archers are in Ogden competing for spots in the Summer Olympics in London next month. The Archery World Cup is on all week at the Weber County Fairgrounds.

The US Women's team is still fighting for a spot in the olympics. In fact, they wouldn't talk to media Tuesday because they're focused on training and competing. But the US Men's team already has a spot in London, and they had plenty to say,

"You get out there, your heart rate gets going," said Jacob Wukie, a member on the men's team. These world-class archers put all their focus into that little yellow dot, with all the strength and skill that hitting the mark requires.

Wukie qualified during trials just a few weeks ago. "I've worked for it for a number of years, and to actually be on the team is really cool."

The Ohio native has been shooting competitively since 1999, gradually working towards that Olympic dream. And he's not the only one.

"We have approximately 66 teams here, representing countries from all over the world," said Bob Romero, President of the Organizing Committee.

For many, this is their last chance at the 2012 Summer Games. Members of the US women's team are among the more than a hundred folks still looking for a spot in the Olympics. Wukie says he's not only here to compete in the World Cup he's here for all of team USA.

"(The women's team is ) not just training by themselves, we're all training together," he said, "...supporting each other, and trying to build each other up and prepare."

The Women's team will be shooting for their chance this Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the Weber County Fairgrounds. There are only three women's team spots and five women's singles spots left, so they're asking for help from anyone willing to come out and cheer them on.
