LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- A Utah developer has been chosen to oversee the first phase of construction at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's new research park and help recruit private companies.
UNL officials say the Woodbury Corp. agreed to develop streets, sewer lines and other infrastructure at the former home of the Nebraska State Fair in exchange for 10 percent of the rent private companies agree to pay.
Chancellor Harvey Perlman says this agreement will help the project because the area currently lacks infrastructure and leasable facilities.
The first phase of the research park includes a life sciences research center, an office and lab building and a U.S. Department of Agriculture research facility.
The Orem, Utah, based Woodbury set up Nebraska Nova LLC to oversee the development in Lincoln.
