SALT LAKE CITY -- The final debate between Utah's top two candidates for governor is scheduled for Tuesday night, and you can watch it live on KSL Channel 5.

The event is a town hall debate between Gov. Gary Herbert and Democratic challenger Peter Corroon, a publicly-focused forum at the Libby Gardner concert Hall.

Coming up:

The debate will feature questions focusing on education, immigration, ethics and the economy. Those questions have been crafted by the University of Utah Forensic debate team for the specific intent to get answers voters want to hear.

For Herbert, it's an opportunity to solidify and maintain his strong position in the race.

Because Corroon is 25 points down in the latest KSL/ Deseret News Dan Jones poll, he has a chance to gain support by reminding voters why he got into the race from the start.

"It's certainly an opportunity to accentuate the ideas of each one of the candidates. It's also an opportunity for Peter Corroon to rebrand himself," says political pollster Randy Shumway.

Shumway points to this latest poll, which shows Herbert leading Corroon 58 percent to 33 percent, with relatively few undecided voters.

The town hall debate will broadcast live on KSL Channel 5 at 6 p.m. Tuesday. It will be moderated by Bruce Lindsay in front of an audience from the University of Utah's Libby Gardner Concert Hall.
