1. Police arrest man suspected in fatal hit-and-run in argument over dog

Police have arrested a man they say is suspected of running over and killing a man on a West Valley street last week after an argument over a dog.

Aaron Hosman, 40, was arrested Saturday evening for investigation of murder and obstruction of justice, according to statement released Sunday by West Valley police.

2. Utahns rally in support of affordable health care

Scores of people participated in a march and rally Saturday in downtown Salt Lake City in support of protecting access to affordable health care. Organizers asked participants to call on Utah Sens. Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, to reject proposals that would cut or cap Medicaid funding and repeal the Affordable Care Act, also called Obamacare.

3. 6-year-old boy drowns in Spanish Fork reservoir during family reunion

A family reunion came to a devastating end after a 6-year-old boy drowned Saturday evening. A call came into police at about 4:25 p.m. reporting a missing child at Spanish Oaks Reservoir, according to Spanish Fork Police Sgt. Phil Nielsen.

Police, fire, EMS personnel and Utah County Search and Rescue crews arrived at the scene and searched for 35 to 45 minutes before a bystander spotted the boy in the reservoir in an area about 5 feet deep, Nielsen said.

4. Former Vice President Joe Biden encourages Mitt Romney to run for Senate

Mitt Romney was encouraged by former Vice President Joe Biden to run for the Senate at Romney's annual retreat that brings together political and business leaders.

"By the way, you should run for Senate," Biden told Romney on Friday evening during their wide-ranging discussion at the E2 Summit on issues including the former vice president's "moonshot" effort to find a cancer cure.

5. Meet the highway section soon to be adopted by ‘Roady McRoadface’

A Millcreek civil engineer with a fascination with roads asked the internet for help naming a section of I-80 she adopted. What she got was a response one would expect from the internet.

1. BYU's Collinsworth finishes 4th in NCAA 800M final, Utah's Murphy 5th in steeplechase

Shea Martinez-Collinsworth’s final meet of her BYU track career wrapped up with her third-straight All-American honor, while Utah's Grayson Murphy also earned All-American status at the NCAA track and field championships.

2. Jazz workout: UCLA's T.J. Leaf, four other prospects show Jazz what they can do

The second workout featured T.J. Leaf of UCLA, who was the best prospect in attendance today. Leaf was an All-Pac-12 first teamer as a freshman, thanks to his 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

3. Back to back champs: Penguins beat Preds 2-0 for Stanley Cup

Patric Hornqvist scored with 1:35 left and Matt Murray made 27 saves for his second straight shutout as the Penguins became the first team in nearly two decades to repeat as champion with a 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators in Game 6 on Sunday night.

4. Utah extends Kyle Whittingham's contract through 2021

The University of Utah announced Friday that Kyle Whittingham has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the school through 2021.

5. Syracuse track star, Paralympian hopes to keep proving doubters wrong at Arkansas

Hunter Woodhall has had to battle his whole life.

The recent Syracuse High graduate had plenty of people who told him he couldn’t run track for the Titans, but he capped off his senior year by winning a state title and breaking his own Utah High School Activities Association state records in the 200 and 400-meter dashes, giving him four high school state titles.
