OGDEN — Crews rescued an individual who fell while bouldering in Weber County Monday morning.
Crews were called to an area near Malan’s Peak and Taylor Canyon around 10:30 a.m., according to Weber County Sheriff’s Battalion Chief Cory Barton.
Rescuers tried to extract the male, but the mountains were too steep. A helicopter crew was called in, instead.
“It was probably better to actually hoist him out,” Barton explained.
The helicopter rescued the male, then landed at St. Joseph Elementary School in Ogden. The male was then transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
No information on the male's age nor condition were given Monday.
