PROVO — Syracuse’s Hunter Woodall had a state record, a scholarship from the University of Arkansas and a pair of Paralympic medals before his final state track meet Saturday at BYU.

What else was left to do?

Break his own record, of course.

Woodall ran a state-record 21.17-second 200-meter dash, as well as a 46.34 400-meter, to finish off his high school career in style.

“It’s been crazy. Coming in from yesterday, we ran a lot of hard races. My body was tired.

“At this point, we couldn’t run with our legs anymore; we had to run with our hearts. We had to run for the people on our backs and our chests. That’s what was going to pull us to the line.”

All-American distance runner Casey Clinger also won a state title in the 3,200-meter final, clinching a state-record 8:57.90 during an epic final. Weber’s Talon Hall was second in 8:57.95.

Davis swept the Class 5A boys and girls team titles at BYU's Robinson Track.

Springville won the Class 4A boys team title, its first team track championship since 1950.

The Red Devils clinched the title with a 4x400-meter relay, clearing the 70-point mark to hold off second-place Olympus’ 66.75.

Desert Hills won its fifth-straight 3A title with 131 points, surpassing second-place Hurricane’s 76.

Delta cruised to the 2A title with 128 team points, and Panguitch soared to the 1A title with 110 points.
