Now that the holidays are finally behind us and the new year has begun, it’s time to focus on yourself and your overall wellbeing.

If you’re struggling to figure out your resolutions, remember: a New Year’s resolution doesn’t have to be about becoming great at something. It can also be about becoming a better, happier or more fulfilled person.

Here are five things you could include in your list of resolutions:

1. Do things to relieve daily stress.

Studies have shown that finding simple, effective ways to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine will improve your ability to sleep, which in turn reduces stress. Activities like yoga, meditation even deep breathing are small, yet important steps towards achieving a balanced lifestyle and overall happiness.

2. Learn something new.

Whether you learn a new language with Duolingo, master beef bourguignon or figure out how to change a flat tire, learning a new skill can help facilitate getting better at other things. Set a goal to learn one new hobby this year that you’ve always wanted to learn.

3. Improve your overall well-being.

Wellness encompasses everything, including your physical, mental, emotional and financial well-being. While the majority of people focus on their physical wellness, it’s important not to neglect your mental and emotional wellness. Supplements like EMPowerplus Q96, which is formulated to provide essential nutritional support to the brain and central nervous system, can help keep your body and brain functioning at 100 percent.

4. Plan your workout routine/training schedule for the year.

Exercise is important when it comes to burning fat and building muscle. Daily activity can help prevent heart disease and stroke. It can also improve your body’s blood flow and increases your heart’s working capacity. Take time this year to run a 5k, hike new trails or try a new fitness class. Make a plan that will be easy to stick to with attainable goals.

5. Take that financial literacy class you’ve been meaning to look into.

Did you know that the average retiree will need over $1M in savings for a 30-year retirement? Personal financial management can sound daunting, but there’s never a better time than now to plan for retirement, invest in a new stock, and learn how to maximize your money.
