SALT LAKE CITY — Several agencies responded to a vehicle rollover Friday morning to reports of one person trapped inside the vehicle.

Reports of the accident at 1100 S. 3400 West came in just before 7:30 a.m. A man ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit another vehicle, causing his truck to roll, according to Salt Lake City police. The Salt Lake City Fire Department reported that a rescue crew, hazmat team and paramedics responded to the accident to free the man trapped inside his vehicle.

The man was extricated from the vehicle around 7:45 a.m. and was conscious and breathing, police said. He was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, according to Salt Lake City Fire Department.

Three others were also involved in the accident, the Salt Lake City Fire Department said. One person was evaluated at the scene and released, and two others were transported in stable condition to an area hospital.

Officials asked commuters to avoid the area of 1100 South and 3400 West (Gladiola Street) during the cleanup of the accident.
