WEST VALLEY CITY — West Valley police were still sorting out details Monday to determine why a man allegedly tied up two juveniles — one of them completely naked — and held them hostage for eight hours.

The incident started Wednesday when two teens went to the home of Mohamed Mohamed-Sidik, 46, near 1100 West and 2500 South. One of the teens entered the bedroom of the man's daughter, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report. The girl screamed and Mohamed-Sidik came into his daughter's room and "grabbed the male," the report states.

Mohamed then had his son take off the teenager's clothes and tie him up with a rope, according to the report. He then forced the boy to call his friend, who was still outside, to come in. When he did, he, too, was bound but was allowed to keep his clothes on, police said.

"The victims were threatened with a knife and kept tied up for about eight hours," the report states.

The two were forced to stay the night at Mohamed-Sidik's house, according to the report. A cellphone, knife, gum, money and cigarettes were taken from the victims, according to police. In the morning the boys were allowed to leave.

Mohamed-Sidik was arrested Thursday for investigation of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Whether the two boys previously knew Mohamed-Sidik or his family was unknown Monday. West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said more interviews were scheduled to determine what happened and the nature of the relationships between everyone involved.
