KAYSVILLE — The Kaysville Police Department asked for help Monday to locate three children who were reportedly abducted. They were located shortly after the alert was sent out.
The three children, who are between 5 and 10 years old, were taken by their parents from Mutton Hollow Road, according to the Kaysville Police Department. Investigators said the parents are known to drive a black, 2009 Dodge Journey with the Utah license plate X337ZD.
"The suspects, 30-year-old Alpha Rogers and 29-year-old Qwita Solomon, have absconded with their three children after DCFS attempted to serve a court order to remove the children and put them into state custody," according to the Amber Alert.
Kaysville police said the mother turned herself in after the alert was issued. She was found with her children, who are reportedly in good condition, at a 7-Eleven at 175 E. 800 South in Salt Lake City.
Solomon was booked into jail Monday evening for an arrest warrant issued when she missed the custody hearing, Thompson said. Police don't know what charges they will pursue against Solomon and Rogers, he added.
"Based on the circumstances … it could be anywhere from custody interference to kidnapping, depending on the information we have," Thompson said.
Thompson said late Monday that Rogers contacted police and is being cooperative with them. Investigators plan to interview Rogers on Tuesday morning, he said.
A vehicle matching the description provided in the Amber Alert was stopped by the Utah Highway Patrol near Meadow, which is located in Millard County about 2.5 hours south of Kaysville, Monday evening, according to investigators. The man driving the vehicle was briefly taken into custody and then released, authorities said. Rogers was not inside the vehicle and no details were released about the driver's possible relationship with Rogers.
The three children who were abducted are 10-year-old Christina Kelly Rogers, 9-year-old Rickie Rogers and 5-year-old Queenie Rogers. One of the children needed medication for a diabetes-related condition, according to officials. They said the last known contact with the family was on Saturday, and Kaysville police were notified of the possible child abduction and child endangerment case Monday.
Kaysville police said officials from the Utah Division of Child and Family Services attempted to serve the court order to remove the three children from their home at a hearing Monday morning, but the parents did not show up. The hearing was set to place the children in state custody.
"Alpha Rogers has made threats towards law enforcement concerning the children being taken away," a statement from the Kaysville Police Department reads. "Do not approach these individuals if located and contact law enforcement immediately."
Prior to the alert, the children and their mother were last seen in Kaysville on a UTA bus Saturday, according to police. Investigators said they are residents of the city.

It was not immediately known why the three children were ordered to be removed from their parents' custody.
A search of court records indicates Solomon was granted a protective order against Rogers on May 18. A separate protective order request against Solomon was dismissed in June 2014.
Rogers has previously been convicted of assault, reckless driving and disorderly conduct. He was found not guilty of illegal carrying of a concealed firearm in a bench trial verdict handed down June 13.
Solomon has no prior criminal history in Utah, according to court records.
