SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah will receive nearly $285,000 from a federal grant program for six service projects on public lands involving children and veterans.
The Department of Interior said in a news release Wednesday the grants include about $75,000 for a restoration project with Native American along the Escalante River.
In another project, $67,000 was awarded for youth to work on a trail system near Cedar City.
Southern Utah University will use the $79,000 it was given to give youth experience in wildlife and conservation careers on public lands in southwestern Utah.
The federal government gave out $3.16 million around the country in a program called the 21st Century Conservation Service Corps.
