OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Weber State University is working to restore the stage at the Browning Center's Allred Theater after unexpected rainstorm flooded the theater.
The Standard-Examiner reports that the performing arts center should be repaired in about a week. It is in the process of being upgraded with new seats and improvements to the sound and lighting systems. Part of the roof had been removed Tuesday when the cloudburst hit.
A Weber State spokeswoman says most of the damage was to the stage floor, which is covered in a special smooth black paint for dancing. Crews are already re-coating the floor.
