NORTH SALT LAKE — A man who police say attacked a woman after "aggressively" helping her mow her lawn was charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated burglary Friday.

Nanaldo Sahene, 22, of North Salt Lake, was charged with the first-degree felonies, as well as third-degree felony aggravated assault in 2nd District Court.

Both the victim and Sahene reportedly lived in Camelot Mobile Home Park at the time of the incident. While the woman was mowing her lawn, police say Sahene took the lawn mower by force and finished mowing the grass.

The man followed the woman into her home after putting the mower away, according to charging documents. The woman then attempted to close the door on Sahene, who allegedly forced his way into her home, the charges state.

Sahene then attacked the woman, throwing her to the ground and choking her while threatening to kill her, according to court documents.

As the attacker got off the woman to lock the front door, the victim fled through the back door, police said. Sahene followed the woman down the street, knocked her down again and covered her mouth as she screamed for help, the charges state.

Sahene's wife and other witnesses reportedly arrived at the scene. One witness attempted to intervene in the struggle and was injured in the head by Sahene, according to court documents.

After being pulled off the victim, the man allegedly attempted to flee the scene with his wife in her car.

Sahene's initial court appearance is scheduled for June 3.
