PHOENIX- San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle is widely considered one of the NFL's top defensive talents.

Annually, the top talents in the NFL get invited to the league's all-star game, the Pro Bowl, which has been moved to the week before the Super Bowl at the host stadium.

This season, Weddle and his Team Irvin teammates were victorious in the Pro Bowl over Team Carter, 32-28.

In a recently added tradition for the Pro Bowl, the team captains for the game, which were former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin and former Minnesota Vikings receiver Cris Carter, select eligible players from both conferences, and build teams with coaching staffs from each conference.

Dallas coach Jason Garrett led the coaching staff for Team Irvin, while Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh coached Team Carter.

Weddle made a tackle in the game. The only other Pro Bowl-eligible player with ties to the state of Utah was Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner, who didn't play as his Seahawks are facing the New England Patriots Sunday in Super Bowl XLIX on NBC.
