SALT LAKE CITY — A Saratoga Springs man was critically injured in an early Sunday morning accident after the pickup truck he was driving careened out of control and slammed into a concrete sound wall.
The Utah Highway Patrol said the driver's injuries were more severe because he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the 1:50 a.m. crash, which happened at the southbound ramp to I-15 at 600 North.
The police agency said Robert Feland, 37, was in the truck that attempted to take the south bound ramp at a high rate of speed when it went off the freeway to the west, hitting the concrete wall and causing a significant amount of damage to the truck. His passenger, Adam Feland, 35, refused medical attention at the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
