SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A winter storm that delivered a white Christmas for much of Utah left up to two feet of snow in some of the state's mountains.
Southern Utah's Brian Head Resort recorded 24 inches from the storm while northern Utah's Alta and Snowbird resorts recorded 13 inches and 11 inches.
In the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, snow totals ranged from about 12 inches in Cottonwood Heights to about an inch and a half in West Valley City.
The Provo area received at least 5 inches, while about six inches were recorded in the Ogden area.
National Weather Service meteorologist Mark Struthwols says the few snow showers lingering Friday are expected to clear up by evening.
Another snow storm is forecast to move into northern Utah overnight Saturday and cross to southern Utah Monday.
