FARMINGTON — Two people are in police custody after a man says he saw them leaving his house Sunday with a pillow case full of his things.

Farmington Police Chief Wayne Hansen said after spotting the alleged thieves at 462 E. 200 South, the homeowner confronted them. The two people then got into their car and crashed into the homeowner’s vehicle before driving away, Hansen said.

A neighbor who saw what was going on called police and followed the alleged thieves. He was “able to coordinate with dispatchers to keep officers apprised of their location,” Hansen said.

Patrol cars pulled the suspect's vehicle over on southbound I-15 at Parrish Lane and took the two people inside into custody, Hansen said.

Investigators were working Sunday evening to identify the suspects and get a search warrant for their vehicle.
