LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A 12-year-old Logan boy was suspended indefinitely after police said he made threats against his school.
Police Lt. Tyson Budge says the case involving the student at Mount Logan Middle School has been referred to the Cache County Attorney's Office to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
Budge told The Herald Journal of Logan a representative of an online gambling network notified police about comments from a user who said he planned to take guns to school.
The user referred to a need to "kill them while they are young."
Logan City School District Superintendent Marshal Garrett says officials face a challenging task of trying to determine if the student had a clear intent to follow through on the threats.
The boy has admitted to making the comments.
