PROVO, Utah (AP) — Authorities have rescued two Labor Day hikers in need of medical attention in separate incidents on Utah County's Mount Timpanogos.
Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon says rescuers were called around 4 a.m. Monday to help a 26-year-old woman experiencing medical problems about 3 miles into her hike.
Cannon says the woman had pre-existing medical issues and began experiencing problems after she set off on her hike around 1 a.m.
Rescuers found the woman and she was airlifted to a hospital around 6 a.m.
Deputies did not release details about the medical issue.
Cannon says the rescue team then discovered another woman in need of help on the mountain. The woman in her 20s had collapsed from dehydration.
Rescuers treated her and helped her down the mountain.
