SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A judge has recommended that a former Davis County prosecutor accused of misconduct be suspended from practicing law for seven months, but the decision is on hold pending appeal.
Utah judge Andrew Stone recommended the suspension this week for Tyler James Larsen. Stone stayed the order pending Larsen's appeal to the Utah Supreme Court.
Larsen denies any wrongdoing.
Larsen was fired by the Davis County Attorney's Office after a 2010 robbery trial. The Utah State Bar disciplinary complaint shows Larsen was accused of showing the robbery victims only a picture of the defendant, and not others in the photo lineup.
That dismissal was upheld by an appeals court.
Stone cited that incident as well as another in which Larsen is accused of misstating payments made by a defendant to a probation officer.
