VERNON, Utah (AP) — The pilot of a small plane suffered minor injuries after a crash landing in Tooele County.
Tooele County Sheriff's Sgt. Nicholas Yale says the plane crash landed Tuesday in the Sheeprock Mountains area, just six feet from the peak of Red Pine Mountain.
Yale says the pilot was contracted by the Bureau of Land Management to re-seed an area that was damaged by wildfires in the spring. The pilot was flying home to Nephi at the time of the crash.
The FAA will investigate the crash remove the plane, which the pilot told Yale was destroyed.
The man told police he began to lose power before the incident.
