NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Transportation Department's report on the motorcycle crash that severely injured Nampa's fire chief provides new details about the wreck.
KTVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2esaSpE ) that it obtained the report on Friday.
It says Karl Malott was driving too fast for conditions, made an improper lane change and was inattentive in the crash that occurred September 24.
The report says the EMS provider didn't administer drug or alcohol tests.
Malott's motorcycle slammed into the back of a car on Interstate-84 near Sand Hollow.
He was not wearing a helmet, and suffered a severe head injury.
The Nampa Fire Department posted on Facebook this week that Malott is making "steady progress" and undergoing intense physical therapy that is expected to last several more weeks.
He remains hospitalized.
